Introducing the Opel Grandland
The New Grandland is Opel's flagship SUV, sitting at the top of the range in terms of size, space, and engine power.
Its distinctive and contemporary exterior design is backed up by a number of advanced driver technologies that make life on the road more enjoyable, safe, and relaxing.
Comfort has always been a priority of Opel SUVs, and the New Grandland is no different. Ergonomic active seats for both the driver and passenger plus a number of other features make this one of the most comfortable Opel models ever.
Available with a choice of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, the New Grandland gives you flexibility in more ways than one.

Design and Practicality

Opel have chosen a pure and bold exterior look for the New Grandland. Like all new Opels since the Mokka was unveiled, the Opel Vizor grille is the standout feature on the front of the car and sets the brand apart from any other model out there.
Practicality credentials are strong, as you would expect from Opel's largest SUV. A big boot is accessed through an electronic sensor-controlled tailgate, which can be operated on the key fob, from inside the cabin or by waving your foot underneath the rear bumper.
The interior is light, airy, and spacious, with enough room in the back for three people to sit comfortably.

Technology and Safety

There are a number of advanced technology features on the New Grandland, many of which will transform your everyday driving experience. When you climb in and turn the car on, the first thing you'll notice is the fully digital instrument cluster, which Opel calls "Pure Panel". It's clear and configurable, as you would expect.
For night-time driving, Opel have included adaptive IntelliLux LED® Pixel Headlights, which do an amazing job of lighting the road ahead without dazzling oncoming traffic. Going one step further with regards to safety is the new night vision system. This has the ability to detect pedestrians or even animals on the road ahead, alerting the driver on the digital instrument cluster so you can take any necessary actions.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are fitted as standard, as is a 360-degree panoramic camera that makes parking a breeze.

Engines and Performance

Both petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrain options are provided by the Grandland, giving you plenty of choice.
The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol far punchier than you might expect, with 128bhp pushing you along nicely. It can be paired to either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The 1.5-litre diesel also produces 128bhp but adds an improved level of torque and fuel economy into the mix. This model is automatic-only.
Finally, there's the plug-in hybrid Grandland, which is a very strong performer. With a maximum output of 222bhp from the petrol engine and electric motor combined, it feels plenty fast enough, and can even travel up to 55km solely using electric power.

Test Drive the New Opel Grandland

The New Grandland enhances what has been one of Opel's most popular model lines of recent years, incorporating next-generation tech and safety equipment into a practical and comfortable SUV.

Highlights
Opel Grandland

ENGINES
Experience power and control from the second you start the engine with Opel Grandland’s robust performance. Technologically enhanced powertrains are available with your choice of engine, including responsive 1.2 Direct Injection petrol1 and powerful 1.5 Turbo Diesel both producing 96 kW / 130hp.
2
EFFICIENCY
Opel Grandland’s sporty range of low-friction, high-efficiency turbo engines give you a choice of manual or silky-smooth 8-speed automatic transmissions, all with advanced Start/Stop fuel-saving powertrains. All diesel engines feature next-generation emission-control technology.
3
INTELLIGRIP
Power isn’t useful without control. IntelliGrip puts the strength delivered by Opel Grandland’s dynamic powertrain exactly where it needs to be for increased grip in difficult conditions and zero wheel-spin. This smart system enables optimum traction and stability on different kinds of surface, automatically adapting the torque distribution to the wheels and altering Electronic Stability Program) settings. Drivers can pre-set IntelliGrip for mud, snow or sand using a simple rotary dial on the centre console - or leave it in Normal mode to let IntelliGrip monitor the situation as you enjoy safer, more relaxing town and highway driving.
4
INTELLILUX LED PIXEL LIGHT
Introducing the ground-breaking IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light headlamps1- the next step in headlight technology. This best-in-class system improves night-time visibility with permanent glare-free high beam to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. Each headlamp consists of 84 segments which adapt to traffic conditions by automatically switching off individual units.
5
NIGHT VISION
Typically, only your headlights help you to see when driving in darkness. Until now, that is with our latest night-time driving innovation, Night Vision1. An advanced infrared camera significantly improves visibility of anything more than 300m ahead, beyond the normal reach of headlights, and will detect pedestrians or animals in the dark and display video directly to the digital cluster. Should anything get too close then the Automatic Emergency Braking system also triggers. So, when you ‘re talking safer night-time driving, the new Grandland is definitely not your typical SUV.
6
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The system acoustically warns the driver of dangerous situations ahead. If another car or a pedestrian gets too close, it decelerates or brings the vehicle to a standstill. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection works automatically above 5 km/h and below 140 km/h. From 5 to 30 km/h the deceleration metric to reduce the impact speed of the collision is 0,9 g. From 30 to 140 km/h the system reduces the speed by a maximum of 50 km/h. Above this threshold, the driver needs to brake him/herself to reduce the speed even further. Operational speed range of automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection depends on the detected obstacle (mobile obstacle: from 5 to 140 km/h; fixed obstacle: from 5 to 80 km/h; pedestrian: from 5 to 60 km/h). Opel driver assistance systems are intended to support the driver within the limitations intrinsic to the system. The driver remains responsible for the driving task.
7
ADVANCED PARK ASSIST
The Grandland Hybrid will detect a parking slot for you and then steer you into the space. All you have to do is to accelerate and apply the brakes. Now that’s a smart move. Availability dependent on offer. Opel driver assistance systems are intended to support the driver within the limitations intrinsic to the system. The driver remains responsible for the driving task.
8
360° CAMERA
See more than you typically would with full confidence, even in confined spaces. Our advanced 360° camera1 detects objects that are in the way while you see what's happening on screen – making parking and backing out a breeze.
9
LANE KEEP ASSIST AND LANE DEPARTURE WARNING
Enjoy a greater level of safety and awareness while driving. Lane Keep Assist (LKA) actively responds to dangerous driving by gently steering the vehicle back into the markings. Lane Departure Warning (LDP) warns you of having unintentionally left the marked lane.
10
HIGHWAY INTEGRATION ASSIST
Highway Integration Assist1 is an innovative synergy of Grandland's systems, combining Advanced Cruise Control, Stop-and-Go functionality, and Lane Keep Assist. It works as a semi-automatic system that helps you integrate into a highway, follow a particular lane, or follow a vehicle ahead. Engaged at the touch of a button, you can retake control from the system any time simply by moving the steering wheel. Optional, requires 8-speed Automatic Transmission.
