Opel have really gone all out with the redesign of the fifth generation Corsa, and boy does it show. Its sleek bodylines and eye-catching front grille are just the start. The Corsa allows you to express your own personality, with chic LED headlights and a two-tone 'floating' roof design.
In terms of practicality, it's the largest Corsa ever - but that's not to say it has lost its compact exterior proportions. All it means is that you can carry more shopping in the boot and the kids are comfier in the back.
There's no three-door variant on offer anymore, and the wide-opening front and rear door make accessing the high-quality cabin super easy.
There has been a really noticeable boost in the quality of materials found in superminis these days, a trend which has continued with the Corsa, which has one of the nicest interiors of any small car on sale.
What's also impressive is the sheer amount of tech that Opel have managed to pack into the Corsa. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard on all models, although posher grades will get a 10-inch version with navigation built in.
Opt for one of the top models and you'll find massaging leather seats, LED lights all round, radar cruise control, keyless entry, and front/rear parking sensors as standard. Safety is taken care of thanks to a suite of airbags and an autonomous emergency braking system.
The Corsa is available with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains. It's 10 percent lighter than the outgoing model, which means better acceleration and improved economy no matter which fuel option you go for.
You can choose a 74, 99 or 128bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, which will get you around town just fine and you'll see up to 54.3mpg on the trip computer, which is great. Diesel models perform better on the open road and are capable of up to 70.6mpg, though if you want an automatic, you'll need to go for the 99 or 128bhp petrol.
The big news is that the all-electric Corsa-e has a 336km range, accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.6 seconds and can be fully charged at home overnight.
It's time to switch it up with the Opel Corsa-e! One of Britain's best-selling vehicles has now gone fully electric, bringing more fun and excitement to the daily drive.
Underneath the stylish new body there is a 50kWh lithium-ion battery that grants the driver a range of up to 336km/h. Better yet, there is no emissions emitted and the battery can be rapidly charged up to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes.
It's the fastest available Corsa too, with rapid acceleration thanks to the instantly available maximum torque and the fact that there are no gears to change.
As an overall small car package, the Corsa is hard to beat. All the Corsa hallmarks remain in terms of value, practicality, and ease of drive, but it's grown up a bit, got a smart new look and some fantastic new technology - plus the freedom to choose between petrol, diesel, and all-electric models.
