Introducing the Opel Combo Cargo
Say hello to the multi award-winning Opel Combo, a van that has built its reputation on dependability and class-leading fuel economy.
A fresh design ensures the Combo makes a big impression upon arrival, while the host of features Opel have incorporated ensure life is made easier and safer on a daily basis. On top of this, you get access to Opel's latest range of engines and gearboxes, which ensure trips to the pumps are kept to a minimum.
Carry on reading to discover more about Combo's distinctive features and how they could help drive your business forward on an annual basis.
The rugged appearance and features aren't just for show because Opel Combo punches above its weight when it comes down to business.
First and foremost, there are two wheelbases for you to choose from, with the shortest offering 3.8 m3 of cargo space and the longest providing 4.4 m3. Go for the optional FlexCargo pack and you get a load-through hatch, which means you can carry loads up to 3.44 metres in length.
You'll never be short of functionality, because depending on the wheelbase you opt for, you will benefit from up to 1,000 kg payload capacity. There's also 15 storage compartments dotted around the cabin for all the smaller items that help get you through the working day. You can also spec a 4x4 should you find yourself on tricky road surfaces on a regular basis.
Safety and driver aids were paramount during the creation of the Combo. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, which projects your smartphone onto a crystal-clear 8-inch touchscreen. If you wish, there is the option to add satellite navigation and a wireless charging pad for your phone.
Help is available at the touch of a button thanks to Opel Connect, which gives you access to roadside assistance 24/7, 365 days a year. To prevent damage to the van, an Overload Indicator comes as standard, which does the weight calculations for you, ensuring you never go over the payload limit.
If you're big on safety, then you can opt for the Safety Pack, which includes:
As the class-leader in fuel economy, you won't be surprised to hear that the Combo's range of diesel engines meet the stringent Euro 6.2 emissions standards, which translates to less fuel used and less Co2 emitted.
The latest engines are all derived from the same 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel, which is available with a number of different power outputs depending on your needs. The most powerful churns out 128 bhp while returning up to 65.6 mpg on a combined cycle. Up to 72.4 mpg is achievable on the less-powerful variants if you spend a lot of time on the open road.
Auto stop/start is available and recommended if your work is based primarily around the city, while a slick automatic gearbox can be optioned for maximum efficiency.
There's now a fully electric version too, named the Combo-e Cargo.
Versatile, hard-working, and boasting class-leading fuel efficiency; you simply cannot argue with the Opel Combo's ability to get the job done quickly and effectively.
