When did you start working at Johnson & Perrott Group?
I have just celebrated my 5th year anniversary with Johnson & Perrott, having started in May 2016.
How did you progress into the role of Dealer Principal?
I worked my way up through the motor industry food chain, starting out as an apprentice technician, then service advisor, service manager, after sales manager and now, Dealer Principal. I had a fantastic work ethic from an early age and always wanted to learn, this helped me set out a career path early on. I was never happy unless I was doing more, be it doing extra courses when I was serving my time as an apprentice or to present day, where I just finished a Master’s in business from Smurfit business school.
If you could go back and give yourself some career advice when you were 15 years old, what would it be?
Same advice all over again, the harder I work, the luckier I will get.
What are the best & most challenging aspects of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is being in a position of developing others and giving them the opportunity of career progression.
Do you have any tips for young people thinking of getting into the Industry?
Work hard and get your head in the books earlier as this will give you a great head start.
*In addition to his role as Dealer Principal of our premises in Douglas, Paul was also appointed Head of Aftersales across all Johnson & Perrott Motor Dealerships in March 2023.
